Seoul Yummy Restaurant at Novena Square2

We've eaten at this restaurant before and at that time it wasn't that memorable. It's been a while since we went back to Square2 and was surprised to see that the they had expanded their restaurant! With that they also expanded their menu - everything on it looked so tempting. The best thing is that they have a set menu for 1 or 2 persons. The one person's one was $16.99++ for freeflow Barley Tea (hot/cold), freeflow side dishes, an appetiser and a main.

I didn't care much for the tea. It didn't taste good at all. If you've never tried, Korean Barley tea is nothing like the Chinese Barley tea we're used to. This one had more of a grassy taste to it that left an unpleasant bitter taste on your tongue.

The freeflow Korean side dishes that came in little dishes were awesome. The menu said 4 free side dishes but they brought out 6 for us to share. We were also expecting each person to have their own side dishes, but maybe due to space constraint they decide to let us just share the side dishes. It doesn't state on the menu that they were freeflow but we asked them. Side dishes consisted of some sweet boiled peanuts, cucumber pickles, kimchi (which toward our 5th helping was really really sour), little sweet spicy anchovies (ikan bilis), yummy cold tofu with a sweet spicy sour dressing on top, and a very bland potato salad. It wasn't that we were being greedy, but the side dishes were yummy so we kept on asking for refills....hehehe.

For the appetisers we ordered the potato pancake and dumplings. Potato pancakes were very nice, dumplings were so-so, kinda like the frozen ones you can buy at the supermarket.

For the mains we ordered Pork Bibimbap and Cold Buckwheat Noodles. I think you can't go wrong with Bibimbap. It was fragrant, tasty and very filling. The Noodles were not too bad either, be nicer if it had a little bit more noodles.

Overall, I would definitely come back to this place again.

My Earring Collection

I am definitely a girlie girl. Love dressing up, love accessories, love make-up. Over the years I've amassed quite a large collection of earrings bought from shops and online. It's hard not to in Singapore cos it's so cheap!

I don't have a particular favourite, they're like my babies, love them all! LoL. I used to hang them on this bamboo mat I bought from Daiso which I hung on the wall. But it was getting too crowded and difficult to hang one without another falling down. So got fed up and went to the shop and found this cute brassy looking revolving earring stand. There were a number of choices at the store, but I knew this one would take less space on my table. I simply love it! At last count I think I had something like 30 earrings...too many? :)

I also hung the Universal Studios and Hard Rock trading pins on there.

Hello Kitty Egg Frying Pan

How cute is this! I haven't used it yet, was thinking of making pancakes with it. I bought it on ebay. There's actually 2 types, one with lid and without, I personally think the one with a lid is better so you can cover the pan and make fried egg with a runny center.

Crispy Cheesy Crust Pizza from Pizza Hut

This pizza has been calling out to me for a LONG time ever since it came out. All the ads just looked so enticing.

Overall it was 'alright'. Typical stuffed crust pizza from the Hut with crispy cornflakes stuck on the little pull apart stuffed crusts. I like the cheese dipping sauce, but to me anything dipped in cheese is lovely...LOL. It's nice they gave just enough of the dipping sauce too. I really can't decide whether Domino's is better or Pizza Hut. What I notice though is Domino's pizza doesn't make you as thirsty as Pizza Hut's one - so does that make Domino's better?

Pre Cut Strips of Daikon Radish for Sushi

Found this packet of precut Daikon Radish. It's cut the perfect size and length for a standard sushi which is really great! I found it from the Korean supermarket for a reasonable price. The only downside is I wish it came in a resealable packet. It's definitely hard to find a container that is the same length as the radish. So I ended just putting the whole packet inside a clean bag (you know those fruit and vege bags you use at the supermarket, I bought a whole roll of it).
